The initial consultation with Director Leo Ash Evens costs $100 for 60 minutes of consulting and an additional 30-minute vocal assessment. The cost is reflective of the personalized expert insights and guidance you’ll receive during the sessions. Even if you do not continue coaching with us, we’re confident you’ll enjoy this important and valuable first step!
Nope! We understand that finding a college audition coach is a deeply personal decision. If you do not feel like we are a good fit for you and your needs, you do not have to commit to any further coaching. There is no contract and our a la carte pricing allows you to choose the services that are right for you and your family.
Preparing for your college audition is a marathon, not a sprint. We recommend getting started as early as possible so you can arrive at your auditions as your most prepared and joyful self at your college auditions. Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to schedule an initial consultation to maximize your artistic growth. Ideally, applicants should start no later than their junior year. However, we are happy to help you wherever you are in your journey!
Absolutely! In some ways, parents need to be coached through this process as much as the students. Embarking on the college audition process is a family commitment, and we love helping parents navigate the journey as well!
We do not audition or prescreen our students. The initial consultation is a chance to get to know one another and set up a game plan that works for you and your family. Bring yourself, your passion, and any questions you may have! Each initial consultation will include a 30-minute vocal assessment evaluating vocal ability. For this assessment, please prepare a short cut of 2 of your favorite songs.
Many families effectively navigate MTCA coaching successfully with a limited budget. We will discuss with you how to most effectively navigate any budgetary restrictions you have as a family. Based on your skillset and needs, we can help you with which areas to maximize to get the most bang for your buck.
We also do have limited scholarships funded by MTCA, based on demonstrated need, which students can apply for following their initial consultation. For students who qualify, we also work with a wonderful organization called TFCA (The Fund for College Auditions), run by our founder Ellen Lettrich, which provides comprehensive scholarships to a limited number of students each year. Please check out those qualifications here: https://thefundforcollegeauditions.org/apply/
