Trent Soyster is a New York-based, Pittsburgh-raised theater and dance artist who centers movement-driven work and collaboration. He holds a BFA from Pace University and was recently seen as Giulio in the First National Tour of Pretty Woman: The Musical and the Dance Captain on the First National Tour of Escape to Margaritaville. Regionally, as choreographer and/or director, Trent’s work has been seen at the John W. Engeman Theater (Footloose), Argyle Theater (Newsies), Slow Burn Theater Company (Newsies, The Witches of Eastwick, Sister Act — the first two for which he is a Carbonell Nominated Choreographer), Timber Lake Playhouse (Disney’s Frozen, Jekyll & Hyde), New London Barn Playhouse (Jersey Boys), Interlakes Theatre (Footloose). Trent has performed in 45 states in the US, in Canada, Croatia, and his work was recently featured in a one-man clown show that played a sold-out run in Scotland at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In addition to his work as the associate casting director for Timber Lake Playhouse, Trent is a Creative Install Director/Choreographer at RWS Global for their theme parks worldwide, recently having directed at Hersheypark, Story Land, Kentucky Kingdom and Kennywood. His work as an associate to folks like Sam Pinkleton, Richard J. Hinds, Rusty Mowery and Patrick Fitzwater have shaped the way he generates material and leads a room.

As an educator, Trent is on guest faculty at Broadway Dance Center and Young Artists of America and has judged, choreographed, and taught theater, jazz, and tap at competitions and studios around the country. At the collegiate level, Trent has taught classes/workshops for Penn State University, Gonzaga University, Pace University, Plymouth State University and Geneva College. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity and associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers’ Society, and he is represented by CESD Talent.
