Mike Labbadia is an actor, teacher, producer and consultant. He received his BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
As an actor, his Off-Broadway credits include Julius Caesar/Caesar & Cleopatra, Arcadia, and The Winter’s Tale with BEDLAM, where he is a company member. Select Regional and New York credits include A Streetcar Named Desire (Flint Rep), The Brothers Karamazov (New American Ensemble), Anything Goes and Saint Joan (Gulfshore Playhouse), Hamlet (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), and Saturday, Sunday, Monday (Virginia Rep), among others. On screen, he appears in the upcoming film On the End alongside Tim Blake Nelson. He has also originated roles in numerous new works, including collaborations with the Nederlander Organization, New York Theatre Workshop, Keen Company, and The Lark. As a filmmaker and producer, his work has premiered on Short of the Week and at festivals like Bushwick FF, Miami Web Fest, Oaxaca, and Women in Film.
As an audition coach for professional actors, Mike has helped colleagues book jobs on Broadway, television, and film. He has also had the privilege of working frequently with our country’s veterans, exploring classical text through their unique lived experiences.
Mike is the co-founder of Artist’s Strategy, a consultancy that has helped hundreds of artists book dream roles, raise funds for passion projects, eliminate debt, and build sustainable careers. With his business partner, Joshua Morgan, he is developing and leading the year-long Business of Acting curriculum for graduating seniors at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
He’s thrilled to be working with MTCA and with young actors on developing their unique POV and making sure they lead with authenticity. As the entertainment industry becomes more competitive and with developments like AI already drastically affecting opportunities, he believes that the only way an actor can stand out is through their one-of-a-kind personality, opinions and taste.
