Katie Travis is an award-winning singer and actor best known for playing Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera throughout North America. Broadway credits include The Phantom of the Opera (Broadway). Regional theatre highlights include Cosette in Les Misérables (The MUNY, St. Louis), as well as performances at Fireside Theatre (Wisconsin) and Liederkranz Opera Theatre (New York). She has also performed as a soloist with the Saginaw, Midland, El Paso, and Mt. Rainier Symphonies. In fall 2022, Katie toured Japan as a soloist with Orchestra Japan in their Disney On Classic concert series, performing in 37 cities nationwide. She is a recipient of the Lys Symonette Award in the Lotte Lenya Competition.
In addition to maintaining a private voice studio in New York City, Katie has served as an adjunct professor of voice for the Musical Theatre program at Montclair State University and is currently on faculty at the Penn State School of Theatre. She is a co-founder of the SPARK Artistic Mentorship Program, a free training and mentorship initiative for students in Mid-Michigan.
As an educator, Katie has presented “Yoga for Singers” classes at the One Body, One Voice Conference and shared her research at the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance (MTEA) conference.
