Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Julia is a graduate of Penn State University’s Musical Theatre Program where she was on the Dean’s List throughout and received the Penn State Presidential Scholarship for Musical Theatre. National tour: A Chorus Line (Judy) with Michael Bennett’s original choreography set by Baayork Lee. Regional favorites: Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Atlanta Theatre of the Stars, Cape Playhouse, Transcendence Theatre Company, American Pops Orchestra, Pennsylvania Centre Stage. TV: “Live From Lincoln Center: A Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch” (PBS), Billy Eichner’s “Billy on the Street” (FUSE). Pre-college, Julia received her training at Ann Reinking’s Broadway Theatre Project (where she was a member of Dave Clemmons’ vocal ensemble), the Grand Rapids Ballet, Michigan’s only professional ballet company, and the Grand Rapids Academy of Performing Arts. Julia proudly teaches, directs, and choreographs in New York City and the surrounding area for several schools including Marymount School of New York, AMDA (American Musical Dramatic Academy), and BKA (Broadway Kids Auditions). @juliafreyer.
