Julia Estrada is a Louisville-based acting and song coach, and the founder and co-teacher of the Scene Study class at Actors Theatre of Louisville. She is passionate about helping actors of all ages hone their skills and trust their instincts. Julia is originally from Falls Church City, Virginia, and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
As an actress, Julia spent five years as a female swing and Schuyler Sister standby with Hamilton(Broadway and National Tour), beginning on the national tour in 2019 and continuing through the fall of 2022, including the show’s return to the stage during the pandemic, a wild and formative time to be working in live theatre. In 2022, she joined the Broadway company. NYC and regional theatre credits include I Married an Angel (New York City Center, Encores!), Evita (North Shore Music Theatre, ACT of CT), West Side Story (Connecticut Rep). Workshops and readings include Diana, Only Gold, Bliss, Williamsburg, and Hood.
Julia is at the forefront of exploring organizational psychology through the lens of the theatre industry, creative work, and the arts more broadly. She brings that same curiosity into her coaching, helping students understand not just how to perform, but how to build the instincts, resilience, and self-trust that carry a working artist through a real career.
Outside the studio, Julia’s interests include pit bulls (including her own), pickled vegetables, international cuisine, and the Spy Kids movies.
