He/Him

Joshua is a singer, actor, musician, and teacher. He is equally at home on both opera and music theatre stages and is known for his “strong vocal abilities and rich timbred voice” (Encore Michigan 2014) and as a charming actor (Broadway World 2020). He recently made his debut with the San Diego Opera as 2nd Nazarene in Salome March of 2025 and is a core chorus member with SDO. His favorite solo concert credits include Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, and There’s a Place for Us in which he “masterfully sang with great humor” (San Diego Jewish World 2025). Other opera credits include Marco in Gianni Schicchi with Genesis Opera Theatre and John Styx in Orpheus in the Underworld with Opera à la Carte. Favorite music theatre roles include Georg in She Loves Me and Aaron in First Date both with San Diego Musical Theatre, Prof. Bhaer in Little Women and Leonard Aster in Peter and the Starcatcher with The Barn Stage Company, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof with Temecula Valley Players, Priest in Light in the Piazza at The Rev, Frankie in Forever Plaid at Moonlight Amphitheatre, Plaid Tidings at The Rubicon, and Singer 1 in the national/international tour of In the Mood.

It is of the utmost importance to Joshua that his students love their voices so they can sing with confidence. He meets his students where they are both as human beings and as musicians to facilitate singing in whatever style they choose. Joshua teaches through a mindful connection with the body along with appropriate anatomical information to give his students actionable techniques that they can use for years to come.

Joshua teaches students of all ages in various disciplines in addition to voice, including acting, piano, ukulele, and guitar. He is currently adjunct faculty at Grossmont College in the music department teaching class voice and intro to music.
