Joanne Javien is a storyteller, voice teacher, mother, wife, and passionate advocate for human rights and working parents in the arts. As a voice teacher, she celebrates the individuality of her students, tailoring technique to their strengths and training them like vocal athletes to promote vocal health and longevity. Her teaching fosters a safe, empowering space where students can thrive with confidence and unleash the full power of their voice.

Performance credits include Alice in Thoroughly Modern Millie (U.S. National Tour), Donna in Mamma Mia (Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Fayetteville), Elsa Schraeder in The Sound of Music (La Mirada Theatre, La Mirada), Maggie/Jemma Louise in Kinky Boots (Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles & Broadway at Music Circus, Sacramento), Ayah in The Secret Garden (Arden Theatre, Philadelphia), and Two Gentlemen of Verona (The Public’s Shakespeare in the Park, New York City). Other regional credits: Bloody Mary in South Pacific (Music Theatre Wichita, Wichita; STAGES St. Louis, St. Louis), Kim/Gigi/Ellen u/s in Miss Saigon (Pittsburgh CLO, St. Louis MUNY, Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn), Eponine in Les Misérables (North Shore Music Theatre, Beverly), and Tuptim in The King and I (Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit).

Joanne has extensive experience working with high school, college, and early-career performers. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Voice at AMDA Los Angeles and maintains a private studio, JJC Voice Studio. Teaching credits also include Hussian College, Orange County School of the Arts, and Musical Theatre West.
