He/Him

Chris Herbie Holland is an Obie Award-winning actor, music producer, songwriter, and multi-hyphenate creative whose work spans stage, screen, and studio. He most recently starred as Tio in Fat Ham (Broadway), the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by James Ijames, which received five Tony Award nominations including Best Play. Holland originated the role in the Broadway transfer and reprised it in the West Coast premiere at Geffen Playhouse (Westwood, CA), earning widespread acclaim for his performance.

His regional theatre credits include White Noise at Berkeley Repertory Theatre (Berkeley, CA), directed by Jaki Bradley, and the world premiere of The Box at Z Space (San Francisco, CA), a powerful docu-play based on true accounts from incarcerated individuals in solitary confinement. He has also collaborated with leading new play developers, helping to shape bold, socially engaged narratives in both established and experimental venues.

In addition to his theatrical work, Holland is an accomplished music producer and songwriter. His original music and productions have been featured in the acclaimed television series The Chi (Showtime) and in the independent feature film The Lost Holiday (Circle Films, 2019). Blending genres with ease, his music explores the intersections of hip-hop, soul, and experimental sound design.
