Carman Lacivita recently appeared as Friar Lawrence in Romeo & Juliet (Hartford Stage, CT) and as Cratchit/Marley in A Christmas Carol (Geva Theatre, NY), a world premiere adaptation by Harrison David Rivers, directed by Elizabeth Williamson. He originated the role of Mr. Knightley in Kate Hamill’s Emma at The Guthrie Theater (Minneapolis), directed by Meredith McDonough, and reprised the role at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (CO), earning Broadway World’s Best Actor Award. He also originated the role of Jeff in JC Lee’s To My Girls at Second Stage (Off-Broadway), directed by Stephen Brackett.

Other New York appearances include Sense and Sensibility (Bedlam), The Witch of Edmonton, Lorenzaccio, and The Tempest (Red Bull Theater), as well as productions with The Public Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Theatre for a New Audience, Ars Nova, The Pearl, The Drama League, Gingold Theatrical Group, and Project Shaw. On Broadway, he played Bob/Marvin in Marvin’s Room, directed by Anne Kaufman, and Valvert in Cyrano de Bergerac opposite Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner, directed by David Leveaux.

Regional credits include work with Syracuse Stage (Pride and Prejudice, Broadway World Best Actor), Dorset Theatre Festival (Pride and Prejudice, Best Supporting Actor), Chicago Shakespeare Theater (Romeo & Juliet, Rose Rage — Jeff Award), Long Wharf Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Two River Theater, Contemporary American Theater Festival, Bermuda Arts Festival, and others.

On screen, he has appeared in Law & Order (NBC), Blue Bloods (CBS), Golden Boy (CBS), Royal Pains (USA), and The Chica Show (NBC), and voices Murder at the Patel Motel (Audible). He is a founding member of Amphibian Stage Productions and also works as an acting coach, monologue coach (MTCA), fight choreographer, and tennis pro.
