Candice Hatakeyama is an actor and writer originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. She made her Broadway debut as Bubbles/Ensemble in the revival of Funny Girl (Broadway) starring Lea Michele. Her regional theatre credits include Sally Bowles in Cabaret (Hangar Theatre, New York), Irene Roth in Crazy for You (Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida), and roles in Catch Me If You Can (Arena Stage, Washington, D.C.). Candice is known for bringing depth and charisma to her characters across a wide range of musical theatre styles.
As a writer, she developed a musical adaptation of Ruth Ozeki’s novel A Tale for the Time Being through the Young Research Fellows Program, showcasing her talents beyond the stage. She is also the financial director of the multi-hyphenate production company Next Stop Creatives, where she supports innovative theatrical projects.
In addition to her performing and creative work, Candice enjoys writing, reading, doodling, cooking, and expanding her collection of Dr. Martens boots. She is passionate about amplifying diverse voices in theatre and cultivating creative communities.
