Chris Sanders is a New York City–based voice teacher and vocal technician specializing in musical theatre. He has served on the voice faculty at Texas State University’s Musical Theatre BFA program and NYU Steinhardt. Chris holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance for Musical Theatre and an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from NYU Steinhardt, as well as a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of West Florida. His international studies include The Performing Arts Institute in Munich, Germany, and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. He is currently pursuing Vocology Certification through NYU, focusing on vocal rehabilitation for singers recovering from injury.

Chris’s clients have appeared on national and international tours including Beetlejuice, Disney productions, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, as well as at regional theatres such as The Muny (St. Louis), Paper City Lyric Opera (PCLO), Goodspeed Musicals (East Haddam), and Music Theatre Wichita (Wichita). As a vocal technician, he emphasizes vocal efficiency and authenticity, drawing on his own early challenges as a vocalist to guide students toward lasting technical and neurological improvements.

Chris has been published twice in VOICEPrints Journal and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
