RAP-Rapid Automated Paging Software
Rapid Automated Paging Software processes critical system information and delivers it directly into the hands of the people that need it. In a wide variety of applications and industries, stationary equipment is employed to report critical event information. Alarms, system troubles, equipment failures and other events that require action or a response are most often reported via an enunciator pager, PC screen or event primer. These events can be critical to the success profit and/or safe operation of organization. The reporting and dissemination of critical information can be crucial to the efficient, uninterrupted operation of hotels, hospitals, schools, manufacturing operations, computer networks, radio and television stations, telecommunications systems, retirement facilities, financial institutions, government agencies, gas and electric utilities, shopping centers and commercial buildings.

RAP is a comprehensive PC based automated paging software package that integrates existing critical systems to a variety of widely available wireless messaging devices. Alphanumeric Pagers, Digital PCS Phones, 0 radios and other technologies that are capable of receiving wireless text messages become the vehicle for monitoring critical system events and activities. RAP allows you to put your stationary critical systems at your fingertips, on your belt, or in your pocket.

RAP Software accepts RS-232 ASCII event data from equipment or industrial data-acquisition systems through a PC's serial port(s). It then translates each event's associated data string into a user defined alphanumeric message. For each event that is generated by the host system or systems, a message may be generated containing the exact text string as it would appear on the host system or a programmable message can be set up.

RAP initiated messages are delivered to predefined wireless messaging devices based on user defined criteria. The set up parameters allow extensive flexibility in defining what information is to be delivered (Alert Criteria), to whom (System Users/Groups), at what times and on what dates, (Time Shifts) and in what order (Notification Sequence).

RAP Features
System Expansion - Supports up to eight serial ports which can be allocated for either incoming or outgoing data.

Event Log - Automatically logs all system events in an event log. The event log is available for real time on screen viewing or for historical retrieval, viewing and printing.

Reset/Acknowledge Identification - Identifies and pages reset or acknowledge conditions that are associated with Activation or Alarm conditions.

Escalation - RAP is designed to escalate conditions to alternate or back up users when an activation or alarm condition is not reset or acknowledged within a user defined period of time.

Access - Four password protected Access levers allow users with different degrees of security or responsibility to access the system setup, report, and user interface menus and features.

Manual Paging - Create messages on screen for delivery to any user or group of users.

Group Paging - Allocate individuals to one or more groups for group notification of system events or for manual paging.

Report Utility - Create reports based on any of the parameters stored in the event log including time, date, system event, pager user, group, notification sequence, and/or access lever.

RAP Benefits
Mobility - Personnel may no longer be required to physically monitor alarm panels or event printers.

Technology Enhancement - Add value and functionality to technologies that are widely utilized (Critical Operating Systems and Wireless Messaging Technologies).

Speed of Communication - Shortens response times to alarms and eliminates unnecessary delays. Reduces the costs associated with shutdowns, malfunctions and alarms.

False Alarm Reduction - Decreasing response times to alarm and emergency conditions may decrease the number of alarms that require emergency service dispatch.

Improved Service - Property managers, security guards, medical staff and maintenance personnel can provide better service to their clients by having access to real time critical system event information.

Critical System Back-up - Provides added insurance against alarm or critical condition messages going unnoticed for a period of time.

Team Communication - Alarm and critical event information can be directed to specific individuals or to teams responsible for responding to specific alarms or events.

Automated Alarm Notification - Critical event information is relayed to everyone who is required to respond in an emergency or critical situation without human intervention.

Continuity of Operations - Reduces Interruptions in operations that may be caused by fire alarms, evacuations, heating/cooling system failures production fine equipment failures/material shortages... etc.

Application Flexibility - Widely applicable solution for communicating critical system information to the people who need to know.

Reporting - Comprehensive report generation for event tracking and audit bail purposes.

Centralization and Integration - Event information from multiple operating systems is processed, distributed and recorded in a central location.
